On March 14, Brown Edwards sent our first message to our clients regarding the COVID-19 crisis. It’s hard to believe that was almost 7 weeks ago. As we move into May, we wanted to give you an update and some reminders. First, at Brown Edwards, it is business as usual – although, like many of you, most of our people are working remotely. Business as usual for us means, regardless of where we are, our clients are still our priority and our focus.
We understand this pandemic has caused significant disruption to your business and a key concern at this time is your health and safety. With the deadline extensions available through COVID-19 related actions by Federal and State taxing authorities, sending your materials to your CPA firm might not be your top priority. We do suggest, however, that you send in your materials if they are ready to go. Of course, we can assist you in working through this process as we normally do.
As a reminder, the new deadlines are:
- Federal: 7/15/2020
- VA Corporate, Fiduciary and Individual: 6/1/2020
- WV Corporate, Fiduciary and Individual: 7/15/2020
- TN Business Tax: 6/15/2020
- TN Franchise and Excise: 7/15/2020
- TN Individual/Hall Income Tax: 7/15/2020
- NC Business Income/Franchise, Fiduciary, and Individual: 7/15/2020
We wanted to remind you that Brown Edwards has several ways for you to submit your materials. First, we recommend utilizing USPS, Fed-EX or UPS for your convenience and safety. Additionally, the technology systems we have in place and use to serve our clients are robust and can be easily and securely accessed, regardless of where our associates and clients are working. Finally, our offices are open and we have designed methods for you to safely drop your materials while still adhering to social distancing guidance. Feel free to contact us if you have questions.
