Richard is based in our Kingsport office. He is a general practice partner licensed in the State of Tennessee and the Commonwealth of Virginia and has over thirty years of experience in public accounting with a heavy concentration in municipal and not-for-profit auditing. He serves clients in the areas of the construction and transportation industries.
Richard graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a major in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, he is a member of the Bristol Virginia Rotary Club and is a past board member and treasurer of Theatre Bristol.

Don Royston has practiced public accounting since 1972. He is a graduate of Tennessee High School in Bristol, Tenn., and East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn.
Don has served individuals as well as a diverse group of business clients. His specialties include financial institutions, technical service areas, estate planning, wholesale/retail, manufacturing and medical practices. He consults with clients in organization, tax, auditing and accounting matters. He uses these areas of expertise, coupled with more than 30 years of technology experience to assist clients in making decisions for today’s changing business environment.
Don serves in numerous professional and community organizations. He has served as president, vice president and secretary of the Appalachian Chapter of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). He is also a past president of the TSCPA, a permanent member of its Governing Council, and a former member of its Board of Directors. Don has served two terms on the Technical Standards Sub-committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), where he has also served as a member of the National Governing Council and spent six years on the Joint Trial Board. Royston is an active member of the Greater Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce where he is a past president and treasurer and currently serves as treasurer of the Foundation Board of Directors. He chairs the Kingsport College Foundation, which serves as the advisory committee for ETSU-UT at Kingsport and also serves on the ETSU Department of Accountancy Advisory Board. Don is also currently serving his third appointed term on the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy and is Chairman of the Board.
Don has served as Santa since 1999 on the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce/CSX Santa Train traveling some 110 miles each year from Shelbian, KY into Kingsport, Tennessee. At a pre-train event Friday evening, November 22, 2014, Don Royston was named a 2014 recipient of the Santa Train Ed Moore Service Award. The Santa Train tradition was started in 1943. Royston has also been instrumental in organizing and leading mission trips to Belize over the past 11 years.
Billy is a partner in our Kingsport office. He began his public accounting career in 1989 with Dent K Burk Associates, P.C. after receiving a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. He is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Virginia. Billy serves individuals as well as businesses in several diverse areas such as manufacturing, financial institutions, nonprofit organizations and certain governmental organizations. He consults with clients in various tax, auditing and accounting matters. A native of Kingsport, Billy is a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. He and his wife Laura have two children, Carson and Brandon. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). He has served as an officer in all positions with the local Appalachian Chapter of the TSCPA. His community involvement currently includes serving as treasurer and member of the board of directors for the Rotary Club of Kingsport – Sunrise for the past ten years and member of the board of directors for the Kingsport/Sullivan County Chapter of the The University of Tennessee National Alumni Association. In addition, Billy is an active member of First Baptist Church of Kingsport, where he has served on the audit committee and administrative committee.

Donna Jones is a director based in the Kingsport office of Brown Edwards. She provides audit and assurance and consulting services to financial institutions and not-for-profits in both Virginia and Tennessee. She contracts with the State of Tennessee Department of Audit to provide governmental audit and single audit compliance services for not-for-profit and governmental not-for-profit entities in the state of Tennessee. In addition to providing tax planning and return preparation for individuals, pass-through entities, not-for-profits, and corporations, she specializes in estate planning and the taxation of estates and trusts and is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning.
Donna, a native of Kingsport, graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and from East Tennessee State University with a Masters of Accountancy. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), where she has served as a past-president, vice-president, and secretary and treasurer of the Appalachian Chapter of TSCPA and as a member of various TSCPA state committees, including the state taxation, federal taxation, and has recently been appointed to serve on the TSCPA financial institutions committee. She is also a member of other professional and civic groups, including, the National Association of Professional Women, Tri-Cities Estate Planning Council and the Kiwanis Club of Kingsport. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Sullivan County Imagination Library, an organization devoted to providing books in conjunction with the Dollywood Foundation for all children born in Sullivan County from birth to five years of age to encourage the love of reading.
